We created Hideaway for travelers looking for something honest. No overdone luxury, no mass tourism — just a relaxed space where people feel free to be themselves. Whether you’re here for the beaches, the snorkeling, the food, or the peace, we’re happy to welcome you.

The Story of Koh Lipe and the Chao Leh
Koh Lipe, often called the “Pearl of the Andaman,” is deeply connected to the Chao Leh, or "sea people”. These nomadic fishermen have lived in harmony with the ocean for generations, relying on the sea for their livelihood and preserving their unique traditions.
Over a century ago, the Chao Leh settled on Koh Lipe, creating a close-knit community. When tourism began in the 1980s, the island transformed, and the Chao Leh had to adapt to many changes.
Today, their culture remains vibrant, especially through rituals like the "Loi Rua” ceremony, where they send off bad spirits in hand-crafted boats. The Chao Leh are a vital part of Koh Lipe’s charm, and their story is one that every visitor should discover.
